Bone Grafting in Greeneville, TN
1. Be Gentle with the Area
For at least
7 days , avoid
rinsing forcefully, spitting, or touching the area with your tongue or fingers. Also, try not to pull on your cheek or lip to check the stitches—it can put pressure on the site and affect healing.
2 . Don’t Disturb the Sutures
Leave the sutures in place until they naturally dissolve or your dentist removes them. Avoid poking or tugging at them.
3. Expect Some Granules
It’s normal to notice a few small granules in your mouth during the first few days. This is part of the healing process. However, if you see a large amount of granules or if a suture falls out within the first 3 days , contact us.
4. Keep the Bandage in Place
If you were given a bandage, it should stay in place for the first 3 days . If it becomes loose or falls off, let us know so we can replace it if needed.
5. Follow-Up Is Key
Your healing will be monitored closely. Be sure to keep all follow-up appointments so we can make sure the graft is healing properly.
